Welcome to Jyotirbhavan

Jyotir Bhavan is the Institute of Theology and Spirituality belonging to the Discalced Carmelites of Manjummel Province. The Sanskrit epithet ‘Jyotir Bhavan’ means ‘Abode of Light’. Being true its name, the Institute is aimed at radiating the light of perennial truth and spiritual wisdom to thousands of seekers of light and life. Jyotir Bhavan working under the auspices of ‘Teresianum’, Pontifical Institute of Spirituality in Rome, since 7th June 1981, is entitled to confer ‘Diploma’ in Christian Spirituality. Our program here pay attention to the four consecrated domains: Renewal, Formation, contemplation, community building.

Testimonials

A great place to conduct training programs as well as meetings. Even though the building is situated at the heart of Kalamassery town, it's very calm and peaceful. There is a church inside the Centre, where Holy Mass is offered. Accomodation facility is also available here on daily rent basis. The place is filled with trees and greenery making it a gorgeous place to visit and conduct meetings!
